WWE returned to Saudi Arabia to have the Super ShowDown clash on Thursday (February 27, 2020) afternoon.
Nine titles were put on line in this PPV event but only two had changes made to it. We saw the Fiend try hard to defend his Universal Championship Title against Goldberg. The beginning of this particular match awed many fans since The Fiend refused to give up after being speared four times by Goldberg.
Apparently, no one survives a spear from Goldberg so to have The Fiend being able to stand up again after every spear was indeed marvelous. They both did great. And this is the second time Goldberg has held this particular championship title. The first time was in 2017, against Brock Lesnar.
Another event that stole the show’s main spotlight was Undertaker’s return to the ring to participate in the Tuwaiq Trophy Gauntlet match. Initially, Rey Mysterio was supposed to participate in this match but he was injured by ‘The OC’. The Undertaker hit Styles with a chokeslam and scored the pin to capture the Tuwaiq Trophy — The Undertaker def. A.J. Styles via pinfall to win the Tuwaiq Trophy.
We saw a change in the SmackDown Tag Team championship as well. After a series of convincing near falls down the stretch, Morrison hit Kingston in the stomach with a chair, allowing Miz to roll up the former WWE champion for the pinfall. With the win, Miz & Morrison become tag champs for the first time in more than a decade.
