English side Chelsea has confirmed the signing of Moroccan sensation Hakim Zeyich from Dutch side Ajax on Thursday.
It is believed the London club actually wanted the services of the Moroccan in the January transfer window but all their efforts proved futile as Ajax were adamant the player will only move in the summer.
It is now looking like ‘the blues’ have finally reached terms with the player and his current employers as both clubs have confirmed the deal. The Moroccan will see the season out with Ajax before he finally joins his new club at the end of the season.
A club statement from Chelsea confirmed the deal by stating “the move is subject to the player agreeing personal terms and he will remain at the Dutch club for the rest of the season”.
The deal is reported to be around 40 million euros rising to 44 million euros based on potential performance bonuses.
Hakim Ziyech will be the first signing for Chelsea since their transfer ban was lifted and will as well become the first major signing under Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard.
