Kumasi Asante Kotoko head coach Maxwell Konadu has disclosed that he is not ready to involve Songne Yakouba in his match day squads until he is settled as far as his contract with the club is concerned.
Songne Yakouba for the past months, has not been in great relationship with Asante Kotoko which led to his coach leaving him out in their big derby win over greatest rivals Accra Hearts of Oak last week. There has been talks about the club not willing to meet the Burkinabe’s high contractual demands and his coach has revealed that, he is not ready to include the target man in any of his match day squads until everything is sorted.
“Yacouba is a good player by all standards but when I am managing a team and we have issues to settle, we need to sort those issues out before he can play. We want him but we need to sit down and talk. Until then, Kotoko is a team and has to take certain decisions. We left him out of the Hearts match because we felt he was not mentally focused. Other than that, he is a good player and he a Kotoko player and we want him here but we need to talk to his agent and settle all issues before he can come back to the team.”
The coach however added that, he is ever ready to include the versatile attacker to his ranks once he solves his contract issues with the club.
Sounye Yakouba is demanding $150,000 from Asante Kotoko before he extents his stay with the Kumasi based club whilst the club is also wiliing to offer only $40,000.
