Real Madrid gaffer, Zinedine Zidane, hasn’t given up in his pursuit of Paul Pogba, and is hoping to seal a deal for the United midfielder as the deadline for the summer transfer window looms.
The Frenchman- who has already brought the likes of Hazard, Jovic, Mendy, Militao, and Rodrygo to the Bernabeu this summer- believes Pogba would be pivotal to his tactics this season, and wants the La Liga giants to make a final push for him in the days ahead.
The continental transfer market is open until September 2, and it is expected that Los Blancos will be keeping a keen eye on the midfielder’s situation although Manchester United have made it clear they would only consider selling if Real make a bid in the region of £180million.
According to reports in Spain, Zidane’s hunger to secure the services of Pogba hasn’t faded; and he sees the 26-year-old World Cup winner as a player who can help him conquer Europe again.
Although keen to feature for the Spanish giants and his legendary compatriot, Pogba is not expected to force through a move like Lukaku did in a bid to join his new club, Inter Milan.
There has however been a clear indication all summer that Pogba is craving a ‘new challenge’, after the France midfielder spoke of wanting a future outside of Old Trafford in an Adidas event earlier in the summer.
Pogba’s brother Mathias has fueled speculations that a move could still happen all the more, after recently intimating that the Manchester United star would be a gem for the Santiago Bernabeu outfit and their coach.
‘Everyone knows my brother would be great for Real Madrid and Zidane. It’s Real Madrid and Manchester United who need to talk,’ Mathias told Spanish publication AS.
