Some say the former British High Commissioner to Ghana Jon Benjamin is more Ghanaian than not. Aside keeping up with events in Ghana a lot and engaging a lot of Ghanaians on Twitter, the “Nyantakyihene of the Saani Daara traditional area”, (the Ghanaian title that he has bestowed on himself), is known for tormenting and taking mean jabs at John Dumelo ever since the actor came into possession of a state vehicle from the previous government.
But it was TV personality Nana Aba Anamoah who was on the receiving end of a wicked upper cut and unpalatable “nsɛm fo” from Jon Benjamin last Sunday.
Following the UEFA Champions League draw which paired Manchester United against Spanish giants Barcelona in the quarter final, Nana Aba, who is an avid fan of Manchester United, tweeted that her club would win the Champions league this year.
She was just being optimistic, probably due to Manchester United’s impressive comeback against French side Paris Saint Germain in the round of sixteen.
Out of the blue, Jon Benjamin expressed concern that Nana Aba – who along with her station Gh One TV – has been a leading campaigner against the abuse of Tramadol, may have now switched sides and gone from campaigning against Tramadol to taking it.
Here’s the savage tweet that’s got thousands of Ghanaians talking:
