Incredible Russian Artist Carves Graphite on Pencil Tips

    What’s the best art you can produce with a pencil? A drawing is where it stops for most people.

    It’s not so for Russian artist Salavat Fidai who carves intricate miniature objects, landmarks and busts of humans out of graphite on the tips of pencils!

    Using a small knife and a magnifying glass the artist spends between six hours and two days on his works which are so tiny that they also have to be displayed behind a magnifying glass.

    Here’s one of his sculptures beside a matchstick for comparison:

    Some are even as small as 6mm!
